Open Doors Event

St Paul’s Church in Sketty Opens Its Doors for a Day of History and Heritage

This September, visitors and locals alike will have an opportunity to step inside one of Swansea’s historic treasures as St Paul’s Church welcomes the public for a special Cadw Open Doors Event. The event will take place on Saturday 6th September, from 9:30am to 4:00pm, offering free entry to all.

Built in the mid-Victorian era, St Paul’s has long stood as a landmark in the community, rich in architectural beauty and fascinating stories. Guided tours throughout the day will reveal the church’s connections to the influential Vivian family and their significant role in 19th-century Swansea. Visitors will also discover the heritage of the building itself and its place in local history.

Alongside the tours, guests can enjoy refreshments, making this a welcoming day out for history lovers, families, and anyone curious about the area’s past.

The Cadw Open Doors programme is a celebration of Wales’ heritage, giving people the chance to explore buildings and sites that are often closed to the public. St Paul’s Church is proud to be part of this initiative, opening its doors to share its story with the wider community.

For one day only, step inside, look up at the stunning Victorian architecture, and take a journey through Swansea’s past.
