PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE: DISPOSABLE BBQ BAN
Disposable barbecues have been temporarily banned from sale across the UK due to the exceptionally high risk of wildfires during the current hot and dry conditions.
The Government is urging everyone to avoid starting any outdoor fires, including:
• Disposable BBQs
• Firepits and bonfires
• Garden incinerators
• Fireworks
Please also take extra care when disposing of cigarettes and other smoking materials.
England and Wales are currently experiencing a very high wildfire risk, with numerous serious fires already reported and extremely dry vegetation allowing fire to spread very quickly.
Please don’t take the risk. A small fire or spark can become a major wildfire within minutes in these conditions.
