A few people have been asking me recently about the former Sketty Police Station on Gower Road, particularly now that scaffolding appears to be going up around the building.
I decided to do a little digging and found that Glanmor Chartered Surveyors, who had been marketing the property, recently confirmed that the sale had been completed. The station, at 132 Gower Road, had been advertised earlier this year with a guide price of £275,000, with offers invited by informal tender.
A local business now owns the building and plans to use it for office space.
Having spent time working inside the station myself, I can certainly say that they have a bit of a project on their hands! I particularly remember walking along the upstairs corridor and hearing the floorboards continue creaking for what felt like five minutes after I'd stopped moving. It certainly had character, although I suspect a builder might have a slightly different word for it.
